Hurricanes Harvey and Irma brought unprecedented destruction to Texas, Florida and the Islands; the real toll of lives lost, communities hurting, and homes and businesses destroyed is only beginning to unfold. The recovery is going to be long and hard. That’s why All Hands Volunteers has committed to stay and rebuild Texas for at least two years, while simultaneously sending an Immediate Response Team to USVI and working with local partners to rebuild Florida.
In light of new developments in the Atlantic basin, All Hands Volunteers has made the decision to respond to Hurricane Maria in the US Virgin Islands, which is poised to add even more devastation to an already decimated region. The team arrived safely in St. Thomas and immediately got to work, but after two days they were evacuated as Hurricane Maria threatened the island with another direct hit. In our short time on the island, our team forged local partnerships on the ground with incredible organizations like Community Action Now. So upon re-entry, we will have direct and immediate access to those in greatest need. We are standing by ready to get to work as soon as the storm passes and first responders give us the green light.
We want to utilize every volunteer and help as many homeowners as possible. Help us by donating today to our U.S. Hurricane Relief Fund. Every dollar we receive will be used to help the people impacted by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria.
